Hands On Science Camp - First Cumberland Presbyterian Church

Description: Come join in on the FUN this summer! All Hands on! We will: • Participate in experiments, skits, crafts, and interactive games! • Use a 3-D microscope to look at insects, plants, and things we find in nature! • Take a nature walk, and make a nature journal. • Make our own “ ocean waves,” “fireworks in a jar,” and miniature “snow storms” as we learn about mixtures! • Construct and launch our own rockets… We’ll see which ones go the highest as we learn about chemical reactions! • Build our own boats and see which ones hold the most cargo and float! • Create and learn about volcanoes! • Explore bridge and tower building using marshmallows, gum drops, and toothpicks! • Make our own bug habitats as we learn about insects. Each child will get some insects to put into his/her habitat! • Be creative as we paint “buggy” T-shirts to wear home! • Make our own invisible ink! • Construct an insect pop-up book! • Make insect graphs! And more if time permits! Grades K-3- 9:00-12:00 (with a snack time) Grades 3-6- 12:30- 3:30 (with a snack time) *Note: Camp is presented by an individual instructor, Lisa Haskell, and hosted by First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. **Instructor has Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and experience teaching in public and private schools.

M and M's Big Splat Summer Camp

Description: Come in from the heat and join us at M and M's Big Splat on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9am-12pm (For kids ages 3 1/2-12). The cost of Splat Camp is $25 per day. Camp consists of arts & crafts, music, and movement along with a snack and a drink. A Day of Suess, Let's Tie Dye, and Diggin' Dinos are just a few of the exciting daily themes we will offer. Children may register for all camp dates or choose which themes and dates most interest them. With a trusty Mac, imagination, and Apple Camp, there’s no telling what you can create. Apple Camp happens at all Apple Store locations and each Workshop is three hours. Learn iPhoto in the Photo Workshop, iMovie in the Movie Workshop, GarageBand in the Music Workshop, and iWork in the Presentation Workshop. All workshops are recommended for kids ages 8-12. You can sign up for up to two Camp Workshops at one time.
